S&E/Science:
Ecosystems (2) : About Ecosystems; General Data Recording About Yandeyarra's Ecosystem
1. Miss Tanya will remind you about your Ecosystem Project:
Working in pairs, make a large poster showing the many elements that make up the ecosystem at Yandeyarra. It should show as many animal, plant, weather and geographical features as possible, and should show the many ways that each of these elements interact to form an interdependent web.
>>>I will talk to you about the details of the project when I return to Yandeyarra.
2. As a class, have a quickish class discussion on the meaning of 'ecosystem' (remember our general introductory lesson on Wednesday last week, when we made the poster on the green card) - Miss Tanya will write the main points on the BLACKboard.
3. Miss Tanya will put up an overhead projector page about ecosystems (called 'Background information') and ‘teacher-demonstrate’ note-taking from it on the WHITEboard; copy her notes into your SCIENCE books (on the shelf at back of classroom).
4. Get a 'My Ecosystem' worksheet from Miss Tanya and start filling in the various sections for the general features of the school's ecosystem (you can talk with others about this, but do your own work for now - the pairs project work will start when I get back).
