'i' buttons are smalll battery temperature sensors. They are used to research the temperature of a variety of things such as inside burrows. We have set up a research project to gain data every 15 minutes on goanna burrow temperatures. We are comparing the temperatures of a cave burrow, a burrow with one opening and a burrow with two openings.

We also started radio tracking and practised our skills by locating transmitters hidden in the bush in places where echidnas are likely to be found. This was lots of fun.
