When we arrived at the research centre we had a tour of the premises. It was interesting to see how an environmentally friendly self sufficient property is set up. Everyhing is solar powered, so all the power used here has been generated from the sun. Water is collected from the rain through rain water tanks and the research centre has both a bush toilet and a flush toilet. The shower works on the principal of gravity where the water is mixed in a bucket first and then lifted up so it runs through a hose and out of the shower head.
