Echidnas don't have teeth but they have a 17cm tongue which whips in and out with ants, termites and grubs they dig up. They grind these up using a hard pad at the base of their tongue and a lot of hard ridges on their palate. Get Miss Scott to explain what the palate is. Great questions Katie, thanks.
