Hi Yr 8s from Ms B - answers to your questions!
I haven't seen any echinas or goannas yet - but hoping to radio track some today!
Have seen Western Grey Kangaroos and I have put a photo of a mum & joey in "My Highlights" section under the Lesson Plans - have a look!
The difference between male and female goannas is their weight! They are about the same length, but the "boys" are much heavier and apparently have bigger heads!
It is pretty cold here - yesterday had 4 layers on - with beanie and gloves! Have a look at the photo of me radio tracking!
Haven't got much time on the computer as other teachers are waiting to use it and the connection is a lot slower than at school!
I'll talk to you later in the week.
Hope you enjoy lesson 2 & 3.
Bye
Ms Bedford

Hi Yrs 8s freplies from Mrs B
Hi everyone!
Thanks for all you e-mails! Now to try to answer your questions!
Steph and Bec G - yes it's cold - 10 degrees when we got up yesterday - apparently ther is TV - we haven't seen it but reception is poor!
Tyler & Nathan - I think this whole adbenture is exiting - but the most exciting was "radio tracking" an echidna called "Big Mama" and finding her! The echinas here are blonde and not brunette! I will try to post up some photos of her in the highlights and the photographs later on in the week!
Sam, Emily and Alana - se the reply above. Radio tracking works by puting a receiver on an animal that sends out a set radio frequency that can be picked up by a radio receiver. We have to put an antennae up in the air looks like a TV antennae - then you move towards the beeps! I will try to borrow some from CALM when I get back and you can all have a go!
Lauren & Lucy - unfortunately have only seen one Echidna so far! Her name is "Big Mama" and she is over 18 years old - she is blonde! Hopefully will see some more today.
Tilly - yes it is cold as you would have gathered from the photos of all the clothes I am wearing! But fortunately it is not in the "minus"! At night I sleep in my thermal underwear, trakcy pants then get into my "zero degree" rated sleeping bag then a blanket doubled over on top on that!!
